About the Teams
OCI Media Services builds cloud-native infrastructure for media production, distribution, andstreaming. The team supports global film studios, content creators, and broadcasters withsolutions like render farms, virtual workstations, and AI-powered content services. OCI Multi Cloud builds foundational infrastructure that enables Oracle Cloud services to runseamlessly in other public clouds such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. The team solves complexchallenges around low-latency connectivity, Dev Ops integration, authentication, and cross-cloud performance.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on large-scale systems used by customers like Meta AI,Open AI and Nvidia, and to influence the direction of Oracle’s most strategic cloud services.

About the Role
We’re looking for Principal Software Engineers (IC4) with strong experience in distributed systems, high-availability services, and virtualized infrastructure. As part of our growing engineering organization, you’ll design and build innovative systems from the ground up, influence cross-team architecture, and mentor others. This is a high-impact role where you’ll help shape Oracle’s next generation of cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Lead software design and development for major components of OCI infrastructure Define and evolve engineering practices and technical standards Collaborate with teams across Oracle to deliver integrated, scalable solutions Dive deep into performance bottlenecks, security, and system design Own services end-to-end, from architecture to production operations Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth
Qualifications
8+ years of experience delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems Expertise in Java, C, or C++, and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and systems design Solid knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and architectures Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), storage systems, and cloud persistence technologies Deep familiarity with Linux environments Proven troubleshooting and performance optimization skills Experience with virtualization and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
Required Skills
Proven track record building resilient cloud services at scale Experience with cross-cloud or multicloud development Familiarity with CI/CD tools, observability, and secure cloud operations Strong collaboration skills across remote and distributed teams
