ISO Consultant

Job Description


As an ISO Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to guide organizations in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems that comply with relevant ISO standards. This includes conducting gap analyses, designing policies and procedures, training employees, and leading internal audits. You will collaborate closely with clients to tailor solutions to their unique needs, ensuring readiness for certification audits conducted by external bodies. Your expertise will not only support initial certification but also promote sustainable compliance and continuous improvement within the organization. The role requires a balance of technical proficiency, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Primary Purpose of the Role:


Provide professional and tailored consulting services to organizations aiming to achieve ISO certification by analyzing existing systems, designing and implementing management systems aligned with the required standards, and offering support throughout all stages of the certification process.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Gap Analysis:

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the organization's current systems and procedures to identify gaps against the required ISO standards.

Developing Management Systems:

  • Design and develop quality management system (QMS) documentation or other required systems in alignment with the relevant ISO standard (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Develop policies and procedures ensuring full compliance with ISO requirements.

System Implementation:

  • Provide necessary support to the organization in applying management systems and achieving compliance with ISO standards.

Training and Awareness:

  • Organize and deliver workshops and training sessions to employees, explaining the standard requirements and compliance processes.

Internal Auditing:

  • Conduct internal audits to assess the system's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Coordination with Certification Bodies:

  • Support the organization during external audits and certification body assessments to ensure successful certification.

Reporting and Follow-Up:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project phases, challenges, and achievements.
  • Offer recommendations to improve processes and ensure sustained compliance post-certification.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Quality Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years and higher of experience in ISO consulting or quality management.

Professional Certifications:

  • Certified Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor in specific ISO standards.
  • Training in Six Sigma, Lean Management, or other quality improvement methodologies.

Professional Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor.
  • Relevant training certifications in international standards or quality management.


Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of various ISO standards.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing quality management or related systems.
  • Proficiency in conducting internal audits and providing actionable recommendations.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Management System Development:

  • Ability to design, document, and implement management systems tailored to organizational needs.

Auditing Expertise:

  • Proficiency in conducting internal audits, preparing audit reports, and guiding organizations through external certification audits.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Strong skills in identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies in alignment with ISO standards.

Process Improvement:

  • Experience in process mapping, analysis, and continuous improvement practices.

Document Control and Compliance:

  • Managing policies, procedures, and other documentation to meet ISO requirements.
