DAZU Pay is a new FinTech startup founded by a Stanford graduate who just moved back from Silicon Valley to build DAZU.  Our founder has built over 150 web and mobile applications including for startups in the region (Valu, Cairo360), global tech unicorns (Google) and regional players (Du, MBC, the Saudi Government), and more.

About the Role

We are looking for an engineering manager (or head of engineering) who will take over the software development cycle of the products.  You will manage a growing team of engineers to continuously deliver high quality product features and products for DAZU.  

The team is currently 12 engineers and is growing fast.

You will be expected to know Laravel, Django/Python, NodeJS, React and React Native and must have experience using web scraping, AI, DevOps and producing clean, documented public APIs.  Even better if you have used blockchain/Web3 apps and built things on Polygon and other blockchains.

You must be able to architect, code and troubleshoot issues using these technologies and have several years experience with them.

Job Description

• Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects

• Troubleshoot issues for the team and ensure they are always progressing at an optimal pace

• Manage the sprint planning process and daily stand ups

• Manage the DevOps process

• Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements

• Ensure compliance with security regulations

• Manage software development projects by setting requirements, goals and timelines

• Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources

• Hire engineers and coordinate their training

• Implement innovative technologies - AI, Blockchain

• Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools

• Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment

Requirements

• Work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department

• Extensive experience with cloud technologies

• Excellent English

• Excellent hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development

• Excellent understanding of agile methodologies

• Leadership abilities with a strategic mind

• Excellent project management skills

• BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
