Develop, implement, and maintain the hospital's quality management program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
Monitor and analyze quality and safety data to identify potential areas for improvement
Collaborate with hospital staff to develop and implement improvement plans, utilizing quality improvement methodologies such as Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles
Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the hospital's quality management program
Serves as an expert resource to medical and support service staff in specified areas of responsibility.
Coordinates with all levels of the Medical Services Organization to Identify problems that impact on delivery of quality patient care.
Establish priorities for investigation of problem areas based on the degree of adverse impact that can be expected if the problem remains unresolved.
Direct investigation of problems including scope and causes.
Direct resolution of known or suspected problems that impact directly or indirectly.
Develop effective patient care review and evaluation mechanisms and monitor to assure results are achieved.
Provides day to day coordination and guides medical and support service staff in the implementation of effective monitoring systems for: (Service specific review, Blood usage review, Drug usage review, Medical record review, Risk identification review, Surgical case review and Utilization review)
Investigate and analyze adverse events, near misses, and other quality-related incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Prepare and present reports on the hospital's quality performance to senior leadership and governing boards Investigates new and different methods of patient care evaluation by meeting and communicating with experts and reading professional literature.
Prepares periodic program summary reports to the board and medical management.
Participates in periodic appraisal of program effectiveness.
Provides educational and technical assistance to committees and departments in meeting program objectives.
