Job Responsibilities

Application Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Oracle APEX.
• Customize interactive reports, dashboards, and forms to meet user requirements.
• Integrate Oracle APEX applications with other systems or databases.

Database Management:

• Work with Oracle databases, including creating, managing, and optimizing PL/SQL procedures and packages.
• Ensure data security and performance tuning of applications.

System Analysis:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications.

Testing & Maintenance:

• Conduct unit and system testing to ensure application reliability.
• Debug and resolve application issues promptly.
• Perform regular updates and patches.

Documentation:

• Maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
• Create user manuals and training materials when needed.

Required SkillsProficiency in Oracle APEX (Application Express) development.Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle database architecture.Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.Understanding of RESTful Web Services and APIs.Problem-solving and analytical skills.Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.Preferred QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle APEX development.Certifications in Oracle technologies (e.g., Oracle APEX Certification, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate) are a plus.Responsibilities in Migration ProjectsAnalysis and Planning:Assess existing Oracle Forms 6i applications, including functionality, data flow, and business logic.Conduct a gap analysis to identify enhancements and optimizations during migration.Create a migration roadmap, ensuring minimal downtime and a smooth transition.Data and Schema Migration:Review and migrate database schemas, tables, views, and triggers used in Oracle Forms 6i applications.Refactor PL/SQL code, packages, and procedures for compatibility with Oracle APEX.Application Conversion:Redesign UI/UX to align with modern web application standards using Oracle APEX.Map Forms 6i components (blocks, canvases, items) to APEX equivalent components like forms, reports, and regions.Rebuild business logic and validations in APEX environments.Performance Optimization:Tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code to improve application performance.Utilize APEX's features like interactive grids and declarative validations to enhance efficiency.Testing and Quality Assurance:Perform rigorous testing to ensure feature parity between Oracle Forms 6i and the new APEX applications.Validate data consistency and application workflows.Deployment and Support:Deploy the APEX application in a production environment.Provide post-migration support, training, and documentation for end-users.Skills for Migration ProjectsIn-depth knowledge of Oracle Forms 6i architecture and components.Expertise in Oracle APEX for building modern web applications.Strong command of PL/SQL and SQL for database logic and interaction.Familiarity with Oracle Database tools like SQL Developer, Oracle Data Pump, and DBMS_METADATA.Experience in web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for APEX customization.Understanding of middleware and APIs for integration.
