Job Summary:


Representing the EIC and responsible for all matters concerning all employees working in the Arab Republic of Egypt, including collaborators who are under the office’s budget. This also involves participation in administrative and editorial operations, including rewards, punishments, and evaluations according to the institution’s internal regulations, as well as collaboration in research, planning, and participation in all stages of the editorial publishing process across all departments and divisions of the institution under the direct supervision of the EIC. The Bureau Assistant EIC will be based in Cairo and will report to the EIC.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Providing administrative support to the offices and employees of the institution in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as monitoring and implementing the plans and assignments of the Editor-in-Chief according to the required files.
  • Participating in the guidance of all work teams administratively affiliated with the institution’s offices in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and setting priorities for handling events, news, and coverage in coordination with the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Monitoring and coordinating administrative affairs for all work teams in the Arab Republic of Egypt, forming a comprehensive communication link between the management in the United Arab Emirates and the offices and employees in Egypt.
  • Overseeing the performance of all work teams in the Arab Republic of Egypt, both editorially and behaviourally, and participating in the evaluation of teams administratively affiliated with the Cairo office.
  • Providing administrative and technical support to the site management in the United Arab Emirates by participating in identifying the needs and requirements of the office and work teams, including human resources or technical and technological needs within Egypt.


Job requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, journalism, communication, social sciences, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in highly respected media organizations.
  • At least 5 years in editorial management roles such as bureau chief, business editor or assistant business editor, managing or deputy managing editor or executive editor.
  • Excellent Arabic and English editorial skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of energy, commodities, and financial industries and their Arabic terminology.
  • Excellent understanding of regional economics.
  • Expertise in engaging audiences on social media networks.
  • Basic knowledge of multimedia and infographic production mechanics.
