Chief Accounting Officer

  • To ensure the timely and accurate management of revenue, and other financial matters to facilitate decision making.
  • Leading the accounting team 
  • Reviewing the payroll process with the HR and liaising with the banks to assure accurate and smooth process 
  • To provide leadership continuity to the Administration Team.
  • Assist in the budgeting process as required, providing advice and guidance on fee-setting.
  • Nominal ledger reconciliations
  • Oversee tax issues; salary, withholding and other taxes as may apply.
  • Manage Insurances, including quotations, valuations and claims
  • Training and development of finance staff
  • Deputise for the finance manager in his absence
  • Prepare and implement school wide maintenance plan
  • Plan and coordinate development work, summer works and special projects (such as new campuses)
  • Obtain quotes for any purchases or external maintenance work required
  • Oversee purchase new staff soft pack & consumables.
  • Obtain a cooperation with personal department on payroll system
  • Providing training, supervision, & development for junior finance officer in alignment with department standards. 
  • Reviewing policies, administrative processes, & ERP functions, & implementing modifications to any identified gaps in order to improve operations. 
  • Revenue
  • Invoice registration and deposits for all new students
  • Invoice tuition & other fees through Engage
  • Ensure all students have been billed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconcile billings and deposits to Nominal Ledger
  • File all documentation in Billings File

 

  • Credit Control
  • Send to statements on a regular basis
  • Communicate with parents and companies to ensure payments are made in accordance with payment schedule
  • Follow debtors process; sending letters and making follow-up phone calls to collect outstanding fees
  • Prepare aged debtors reports as required.

 

  • Fixed assets/inventory
  • Maintain Fixed Asset register
  • Record fixed assets onto ENGAGE and allocate into categories on completion of payments
  • Calculate depreciation
  • Balance Fixed Asset Register to Nominal Ledger
  • Oversee various inventory accounts
  • Reconcile uniform account to stocktakes, purchase and sales.
  • Ensure all stock and inventory is correctly accounted for.

 

  • Finance
  • Make payroll payments, enter onto ENGAGE and file in Payroll File
  • Liaise with bank as required
  • Reconcile all bank statements to Nominal Ledger.
  • Prepare reports and analysis as required.
  • Assist & support the financial manager in financial matters.
  • Oversee purchasing officer 
  • Oversee warehouse officer
