About the role:
Reporting to the Asset Management Manager, the Asset Risk & Lifecycle Section Head leads lifecycle planning, renewal, obsolescence, whole-life cost, asset risk and criticality governance. Your responsibilities:
- Own the lifecycle and asset risk/criticality frameworks, methods, registers, review cycles and quality controls.
- Integrate approved condition, Asset Health and reliability evidence into lifecycle implications, residual-life assessments, renewal timing and investment requirements.
- Approve lifecycle plans, asset risk registers, criticality assessments, obsolescence priorities and risk treatments within delegated authority.
- Govern medium- and long-term refurbishment, renewal and replacement forecasts and high-risk asset treatments.
- Apply ISO 31000-aligned risk assessment, criticality, whole-life cost/options appraisal, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and residual-life confidence methods.
- Trigger lifecycle and risk review following significant RCA findings, incidents, deterioration, modification or management of change.
- Provide role-relevant inputs to the SAMP, Asset Management Committee, annual Asset Condition Assessment and NAT reporting.
- During mobilization and handover, establish assumptions, criticality, the initial asset-risk register and forecasts, and review maintainability, obsolescence and critical-spares evidence.
- Maintain risk treatments, lifecycle forecasts and investment priorities in steady state while Reliability retains technical RCA/RCM/FMEA and Asset Health ownership.
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant asset-management discipline; postgraduate study or professional accreditation is desirable.
- Normally 10+ years of lifecycle, risk or asset-management experience, including 3+ years of multidisciplinary leadership in infrastructure or Facility/MEP environments.
- Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle planning, renewal forecasting, obsolescence and residual-life assessment.
- Demonstrated capability in asset risk, criticality, treatment planning and risk-based investment prioritization.
- Experience with whole-life cost, options appraisal, scenario/sensitivity analysis and evidence-based decision support.
- Working knowledge of ISO 55001, ISO 31000, ISO/TS 55010 and EN 16646.
- Knowledge of ISO 41001 where relevant to Facility/MEP asset portfolios.
- Working knowledge of EAM/CMMS lifecycle and risk attributes, registers and reports.
- Strong stakeholder leadership and ability to integrate Engineering, Finance, Planning & Logistics, Procurement and HSE inputs.
- Clear understanding that Reliability owns technical reliability methods, Planning & Logistics owns daily scheduling, and Maintenance Delivery owns execution.
