We’re looking for a
Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join Procore’s
Collaboration Division. In this role, you’ll focus on creating the common cores of our future application platform. Your primary goal is to empower internal and external teams to efficiently and collaboratively create and deliver experiences on the Procore Platform.
As a
Senior Software Engineer, Backend , you’ll partner with Engineering, Product, and UX teams to develop roadmaps, tackle initiatives, and solve critical business problems. Use your expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture, modern web development, and API design to directly enable all experiences built on the platform to seamlessly interact and fulfill our customers' unique construction needs on a global scale. This position reports into the
Senior Manager, Software Engineering and will be based in our
Cairo, Egypt office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
- AI is central to how we work. You’ll be expected to master generative tools and agentic workflows, moving beyond just using AI to actively building the agentic future of construction.
- Design and develop core platform services leveraging Procore's platform technologies via several delivery channels to align with our technical vision of a service-oriented architecture.
- Build underlying application platform features that enable customization and platform extensibility by users, first- or third-party developers, and our application teams.
- Drive key teams that are building our next wave of technology design for the future of Procore, serving as a subject matter expert in your domain.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX to design and build solutions that delight users and solve critical business problems.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues, providing innovative solutions to challenges that arise during development.
- Build a culture of mentorship, innovation, and recognition by leading our strategic objectives at the team level and developing teammates through code reviews, pairing, and training opportunities.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or possess comparable work experience.
- You have 5+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Program fundamentals, Test Driven Development, and Design principles (Java, Kafka, Ruby on Rails, Typescript).
- You possess strong experience designing and building highly scalable, performant software in a Service-Oriented Architecture, including proficiency in implementing APIs and asynchronous streaming platforms.
- You bring time-honed expertise working with our stack of Java, Kafka, Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, and Node.js across the entire spectrum of modern web development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring.
- You are familiar with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Sumo Logic) and telemetry standards such as OpenTelemetry (OTel).
- You demonstrate a track record of anticipating technical problems that fall out of major projects, designing solutions to overcome those problems, and bringing team clarity to complex solutions.
- You have a curious mind and are driven to innovate and solve customer problems.

- الذكاء الاصطناعي أساسي لطريقة عملنا. يُتوقع منك إتقان الأدوات التوليدية وسير العمل القائم على الوكلاء الذكاء الاصطناعي، والانتقال لما هو أبعد من مجرد استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي لبناء المستقبل القائم على الوكلاء لقطاع البناء بفاعلية.
- تصميم وتطوير خدمات المنصة الأساسية مع الاستفادة من تقنيات منصة Procore عبر قنوات تسليم متعددة للتوافق مع رؤيتنا التقنية للبنية الموجهة للخدمات.
- بناء ميزات منصة التطبيقات الأساسية التي تمكّن التخصيص وإمكانية توسيع المنصة من قبل المستخدمين، ومطوري الطرف الأول أو الثالث، وفرق التطبيقات لدينا.
- قيادة الفرق الرئيسية التي تبني موجتنا القادمة من التصميم التقني لمستقبل Procore، والعمل كخبير متخصص في مجالك.
- التعاون مع فرق الهندسة والمنتج وتجربة المستخدم لتصميم وبناء حلول تنال إعجاب المستخدمين وتحل مشكلات الأعمال الحيوية.
- استكشاف المشكلات التقنية المعقدة وإصلاحها، تقديم حلول مبتكرة للتحديات التي تظهر أثناء التطوير.

ما نبحث عنه:
- درجة البكالوريوس في علوم الحاسوب، أو مجال ذي صلة، أو امتلاك خبرة عمل متكافئة.
- لديك أكثر من 5 سنوات من الخبرة في أساسيات البرمجة البرمجية الكائنية التوجه، والتطوير الموجه بالاختبار (TDD)، ومبادئ التصميم (Java، Kafka، Ruby on Rails، Typescript).
