Job Summary

SESCO Steel is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimation Engineer to join its Estimation Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender documents for steel fabrication and construction projects while supporting the successful delivery of competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Tendering

  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements.

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for structural steel and related construction works.

  • Prepare material, labor, fabrication, and erection cost estimates.

  • Assist in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.

  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

  • Participate in tender submissions and bid clarifications.

  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and within submission deadlines.

  • Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, and tender documents.

Coordination & Technical Support

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Detailing, Procurement, Production, and Project Management teams.

  • Review project specifications and identify technical and commercial risks.

  • Assist in preparing cost comparisons and bid analysis reports.

  • Support contract variation and change order pricing when required.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of cost databases and historical records.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience as an Estimation Engineer, Project Engineer, or Tendering Engineer.

  • Experience in the Steel Fabrication Industry is mandatory.

  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, construction methods, and tendering processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity take-off calculations.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
