Role Description The Mechanical Engineer (Site) is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm 1st New Cairo. This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical systems installation and commissioning on construction sites, ensuring work is completed according to approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with contractors and other engineering disciplines, reviewing shop drawings and technical submittals, conducting inspections and tests of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical systems, and documenting site activities and progress. The Mechanical Engineer (Site) will also troubleshoot technical issues, support resolution of design and construction conflicts, and provide regular reports to project managers and senior engineers. Participation in site meetings, adherence to quality control procedures, and proactive risk and safety management are key aspects of this position. Qualifications Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and related infrastructure) and their installation and commissioning on construction sites. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards; experience with reviewing shop drawings and technical submittals. Ability to conduct site inspections, testing, and quality checks, with a focus on safety, compliance with codes, and best engineering practices. Effective coordination and communication skills for working with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients; ability to document site activities and prepare technical reports. Relevant academic background such as a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Prior experience in site-based mechanical engineering roles within building or infrastructure projects is highly beneficial. Familiarity with local building codes, mechanical standards, and health and safety regulations applicable to Qesm 1st New Cairo and surrounding areas. Ability to work full time on-site, manage multiple tasks under time constraints, and adapt to changing project requirements.
