Role Description The Laboratory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt, responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations in support of petroleum engineering and related services. The role includes planning and supervising testing workflows, assigning tasks to laboratory staff, and ensuring that all procedures follow established quality and safety standards. The Laboratory Manager monitors the performance and calibration of laboratory equipment, reviews test results, and validates data before reporting to internal stakeholders and clients. Responsibilities also include developing and updating standard operating procedures, coordinating with project and engineering teams to meet testing requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation and records for audits and regulatory compliance. The role involves contributing to research and development initiatives, optimizing laboratory processes, training team members, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safe work practices. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong quality control and assurance skills, including experience implementing and maintaining laboratory quality systems and adherence to industry standards. Candidates should possess expertise in laboratory equipment and general laboratory skills, including operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments used in petroleum-related testing. Candidates should possess advanced analytical skills, including data interpretation, problem-solving, and the ability to validate and present accurate laboratory results. Candidates should possess experience in research and development (R&D), including method development, process optimization, and supporting technical innovation in laboratory practices. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, or a related scientific field. Demonstrated experience managing a laboratory team, organizing workflows, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations is highly beneficial. Strong communication and documentation skills, proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the petroleum sector are preferred.
