Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering or related discipline Job Purpose We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing / Production Manager to lead the production operations of a cosmetics and personal care manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for achieving production targets while ensuring quality, productivity, cost efficiency, GMP compliance, safety and timely delivery. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manufacturing products such as skin care, hair care, body care, shampoos, creams, lotions, gels, liquid products, soaps and other cosmetic/personal-care formulations. Key Responsibilities1. Production Management Plan, organize and control daily, weekly and monthly production activities. Ensure achievement of production targets as per the production plan. Manage manufacturing, filling, packing and dispatch coordination. Optimize manpower, machinery, materials and production capacity. Monitor production output, efficiency, yield and downtime. Reduce production losses, wastage and rework.2. Manufacturing Operations Manage end-to-end manufacturing processes for cosmetic and personal-care products. Ensure proper batch manufacturing and adherence to approved formulations and processes. Monitor mixing, heating, homogenization, emulsification, filling and packing operations. Ensure proper line clearance and equipment readiness before production. Improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity and consistency.3. Quality & GMPEnsure production activities comply with GMP, SOPs, quality standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams. Ensure proper documentation of batch manufacturing records and production reports. Investigate production deviations, batch failures and quality issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and contamination control.4. Cost & Productivity Control manufacturing costs and improve production economics. Identify opportunities to reduce raw-material wastage and conversion costs. Improve machine utilization and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective/improvement actions. Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.5. Team Management Lead and develop production supervisors, operators, technicians and production staff. Plan manpower requirements and shift schedules. Train employees on SOPs, GMP, safety and manufacturing procedures. Set performance objectives and monitor team performance. Promote discipline, teamwork and a strong safety culture.6. Maintenance & Engineering Coordination Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Minimize machine downtime and improve equipment availability. Support installation and commissioning of new production equipment. Ensure production equipment is operated safely and efficiently.7. Planning & Coordination Work closely with Production Planning, Procurement, QA/QC, R&D, Warehouse and Supply Chain teams. Ensure availability of raw materials and packaging materials for production. Coordinate new product trials and scale-up activities with R&D. Support production forecasting and capacity planning. Strong hands-on experience in cosmetic manufacturing and production operations. Experience managing production teams and multiple manufacturing lines. Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, batch manufacturing and quality systems. Experience with creams, lotions, shampoos, gels, soaps, liquid products and similar formulations is preferred. Strong knowledge of production planning, manpower planning and process improvement. Good analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills. Experience in reducing wastage and improving manufacturing productivity. Strong communication and coordination skills.
