Company Description Corvette Lubricants is an Egyptian company within the EMT group, specializing in the manufacture of mineral and industrial oils for a wide range of applications. Role Description The Lab Chemist role at Corvette Lubricants is a full-time, on-site position based in Alexandria, Egypt. The Lab Chemist is responsible for performing routine and non-routine testing of base oils, additives, finished lubricants, and coolant fluids to ensure they meet internal specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include preparing samples, conducting chemical and physical analyses, documenting and interpreting test results, and reporting deviations to relevant stakeholders. The role also involves collaborating with production teams on quality control, supporting new product development, maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental protocols. The Lab Chemist contributes to continuous improvement efforts by optimizing test methods and participating in audits and quality assurance activities. Qualifications Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory testing methods for oils, lubricants, and coolant fluids. Experience with laboratory instruments such as viscometers, flash point testers, spectrophotometers, titration systems, and related equipment. Understanding of quality control, quality assurance principles, and applicable industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) in the lubricants sector. Ability to accurately prepare samples, record data, analyze results, and generate clear technical reports. Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations and safe laboratory practices. Proficiency in basic computer applications and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or similar tools. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage. Previous experience in lubricants, petrochemicals, or related industrial laboratories is preferred but not mandatory.
