Role Description The Commercial & QS Engineer – Mechanical role at PCP is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing mechanical cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company standards. The engineer will manage commercial aspects of mechanical works, including pricing, cost control, and contract administration, while coordinating with project managers, site engineers, and suppliers. Daily tasks include analyzing drawings and technical documents, supporting procurement with quantities and specifications, and monitoring variations and claims to maintain budget integrity. The role also involves supporting sales and business development teams with technical input, participating in client meetings, and providing clear documentation and reports on project commercial performance.
Qualifications
Strong Sales Engineering and Sales skills to support commercial proposals and client-facing activities. Effective Communication and Negotiation skills to collaborate with stakeholders and manage contracts and agreements. Ability to deliver Training and technical guidance to internal teams on mechanical and commercial procedures. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and commercial management for mechanical systems in construction projects. Proficiency in relevant engineering and QS software (e.g., Auto CAD, MS Excel, estimation tools). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of local building codes, standards, and contractual frameworks; previous experience in Cairo or the regional market is an advantage.
