Role Description The Mechanical Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical components and systems for steel structures, towers, and prefabricated buildings, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project specifications. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, performing calculations, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating with civil, electrical, and fabrication teams to support project execution. The role involves using CAD tools to optimize designs for manufacturability, participating in equipment selection, supporting installation and commissioning activities, and contributing to maintenance and improvement initiatives. The Mechanical Engineer will also assist in documentation, coordinate with project management teams on timelines and resource needs, and support continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency. Qualifications Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with experience in industrial or construction-related applications. Proficiency in Machine Design and mechanical component/system analysis. Ability to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create and modify detailed mechanical drawings and models. Experience in Project Management, including planning, coordination, and monitoring of engineering tasks. Exposure to Research and Development (R&D) activities, including evaluating new materials, methods, and technologies. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced degrees or relevant certifications are an asset. Familiarity with industry standards and codes relevant to steel structures, fabrication, and construction. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality practices. Previous experience in large-scale construction, steel fabrication, or similar industries in the Middle East or Africa is an advantage.
