Role Description The Specification Engineer Team Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in New Cairo, responsible for leading a team that develops and manages technical specifications for building materials and flooring solutions. This role oversees the preparation of project specifications, ensures compliance with local regulations and international standards, and collaborates closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and project owners to integrate Forbo products into project designs. The Team Leader coordinates site and office visits, provides technical presentations and product training, and supports the sales team with technical documentation and project submittals. Daily activities include reviewing drawings and BOQs, advising on product selection and installation methods, monitoring project pipelines, and ensuring accurate, timely specification support for key projects. The role also involves mentoring team members, setting performance targets, and contributing to continuous improvement of specification processes and tools. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in building materials or flooring systems, with the ability to interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs, and translate them into accurate product and system recommendations. Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with architects, consultants, contractors, and developers on commercial or residential construction projects. Leadership and team management capabilities, with experience guiding specification or engineering teams, setting priorities, and supporting performance and professional development. Solid technical communication skills, including preparing clear documentation, technical proposals, and presentations, and delivering product training to internal teams and external partners. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and sustainability requirements. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Architecture, or related field) or an equivalent technical discipline; experience in flooring, interior finishes, or building materials is highly advantageous. Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., Auto CAD or similar for reading drawings, Microsoft Office for reports and presentations); familiarity with specification platforms or CRM systems is a plus.
