Role Description The Operations Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Cairo International Airport in Cairo, Egypt. This role supports daily shipping and customs clearance operations, including preparing and organizing documentation, tracking incoming and outgoing shipments, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners such as airlines, freight forwarders, and customs authorities. The Operations Assistant helps resolve operational issues, maintains accurate records in company systems, and ensures that shipments comply with relevant regulations and timelines. The role also involves communicating with customers to provide status updates, responding to inquiries, and assisting with basic administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the operations department.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in operations and operations management, with the ability to support day-to-day logistics and customs processes. Analytical skills to review shipment data, identify discrepancies, and assist in problem-solving and process improvements. Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and customers in a clear and professional manner. Customer service skills to handle client inquiries, provide timely updates, and support a positive client experience. Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing documentation, records, and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, and data entry systems); experience with logistics or customs software is an advantage. Ability to work on-site in Cairo International Airport, adapt to operational schedules, and collaborate effectively in a team setting. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, customs clearance, or a related operations role is preferred; relevant post-secondary education or training is an asset.
