The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in managing the maintenance, repair, and overall operation of facilities, equipment, and engineering systems. The role ensures safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations while minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily engineering operations and maintenance activities
- Ensure all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems function properly
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Supervise technicians, contractors, and maintenance staff
- Assign tasks and monitor work quality and productivity
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and technical records
- Report major issues and updates to the Chief Engineer
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 3 7 years of experience in maintenance/engineering roles
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
