Job Summary 

The Solution Architect position is accountable to provide deep technical leadership for one of our products. This role is responsible for owning the product’s solution architecture, guiding implementation decisions, and ensuring that systems are scalable, secure, high-performing, and maintainable. 

The Tech Lead / Solution Architect works closely with engineers, QA, Product Managers, UI/UX designers, and the Engineering Manager to translate product goals into robust technical solutions while maintaining high standards of engineering quality and architectural integrity. 

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, focused on architecture, technical decision-making, and code quality rather than people management or delivery coordination. 

Key Responsibilities 

Architecture & System Design (Primary Responsibility) 

• Define, evolve, and document the overall solution architecture for the product, ensuring clarity, consistency, and long-term maintainability. 

• Design and document scalable, secure, and performant solutions using appropriate modern patterns such as layered architectures, modular monoliths, microservices, event-driven, and serverless approaches, applied pragmatically based on business and technical requirements. 

• Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS principles where appropriate, guiding teams on bounded contexts, domain modeling, and separation of concerns. 

• Establish and maintain architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring consistent application across the product. 

• Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and data ownership across the system. 

• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate architectural and technical risks, including scalability, performance, security, and maintainability risks. 

Technical Leadership & Decision Making 

• Lead technical decision-making within the product team and resolve complex technical challenges. 

• Provide continuous technical guidance and hands-on support to development teams, enabling sound implementation decisions aligned with the architecture. 

• Review and approve critical architectural designs and high-impact pull requests. 

• Ensure alignment between backend, frontend, mobile, and QA implementations. 

• Anticipate technical risks early and propose effective mitigation strategies. 

Code Quality & Engineering Excellence 

• Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and maintainability across the product. 

• Define and enforce code quality gates and take responsibility for code reviews, especially for critical and complex changes. 

• Promote best practices in automated testing, CI/CD, secure coding, and clean architecture. 

• Ensure technical debt is visible, understood, and managed responsibly over time. 

Security, Reliability & Performance 

• Design and enforce security-by-design principles across the product. 

• Architect and guide robust authentication and authorization strategies, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, SSO, and integrations with third-party identity providers. 

• Ensure systems meet requirements for reliability, availability, resilience, and disaster recovery. 

• Monitor and continuously improve system performance, stability, and observability. 

• Support root cause analysis of production issues and drive long-term technical fixes. 

Collaboration & Delivery Support 

• Work closely with Product Managers to understand requirements and translate them into sound technical solutions. 

• Provide technical input for estimation, feasibility, and sequencing during planning activities. 

• Identify technical dependencies and constraints early to support smooth delivery. 

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure technically sound and performant user experiences. 

Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing 

• Mentor engineers and support their technical growth. 

• Share architectural knowledge, patterns, and best practices within the team. 

• Foster a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

• 10-15 years of professional software engineering experience. 

• Proven experience in a Solution Architect, Tech Lead, or senior technical leadership role, with ownership of end-to-end solution architecture in production environments. 

• Strong experience designing and building systems using .NET and .NET Core. 

• Strong experience with Angular for frontend development; familiarity with React is a plus. 

• Strong understanding of modern software architecture principles and patterns, including DDD and CQRS. 

• Experience designing and operating distributed systems and APIs. 

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. 

• Experience working in multi-product or platform-based environments. 

• Experience supporting both web and native mobile applications. 

• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data protection best practices. 

• Experience modernizing legacy systems and managing technical debt at scale. 

• Experience collaborating closely with Product and Design teams. 

• Experience with technologies and platforms such as: 

• Backend: .NET, .NET Core 

• Frontend: Angular (React is a plus) 

• Mobile: Native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java) (understanding of integration patterns and mobile-specific considerations) 

• Architecture & Patterns: DDD, CQRS, layered architectures, event-driven systems, modular monoliths, microservices 

• APIs & Integration: RESTful APIs, messaging systems 

• Cloud Platforms: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP 

• DevOps & CI/CD: Azure DevOps or similar 

• Containers & Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code 

• Quality & Testing: Unit, integration, and E2E testing strategies 

• Observability: Logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting tools
