Roles & Responsibilities

To design, implement, and oversee comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental strategies across all plasma donor centers, ensuring full regulatory compliance and managing risks.

Environment Internal and external interactions i.e.: with other departments/divisions, international scope, providers, customers) Internal: Center Management, Medical Staff, Quality Assurance, and HR. External : Government health and environmental regulatory bodies, waste management service providers, and external HSE auditors.

Key responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety guidelines specifically tailored for plasma donor center operations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections across all donor centers to identify hazards related to biomedical waste, infection control, and facility infrastructure.
  • Lead the investigation of workplace incidents, biological exposures, or near-misses, and develop effective Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans.
  • Oversee and enforce strict biological and medical waste management protocols in compliance with national environmental regulations.
  • Develop site-specific emergency response plans and conduct regular safety training and drills for all center staff to maintain a strong safety culture.

Desired Candidate Profile

Academic experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Recognized professional HSE certifications.

Professional experience required

  • Minimum 5 7 years of progressive experience in HSE roles preferably in a healthcare, clinical, laboratory, or blood bank/plasma collection environment with a strong understanding of biomedical hazards.

Computing Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience using HSE management software or digital incident reporting tools is a plus.

Personal Skills

  • Strong leadership and influencing capabilities to drive safety compliance across diverse medical and non-medical teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for conducting root-cause analyses.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach for risk mitigation.

Languages

  • Fluent in Arabic.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
