Procurement Engineer – Local Sourcing & Services
Cairo, Egypt · Full-time
About us:We are an Egyptian company specializing in the design, installation, trading, and operation & maintenanceof water treatment solutions — including Reverse Osmosis plants, pump rooms, and water treatment equipment such as pumps and valves. We work across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout Egypt.
About the role:We are hiring a Procurement Engineer with a strong local market network to manage the sourcing of services, subcontractors, and materials from Egyptian suppliers across our active projects. This role is distinct from our equipment procurement function — your focus will be on the ground: finding reliable local partners, negotiating competitive rates, and making sure our project teams have what they need, when they need it.
What you'll do:Source and procure services, subcontractors, consumables, and site materials from local Egyptian suppliers. Build and maintain a reliable network of vetted local vendors, service providers, and subcontractors relevant to water treatment and civil/mechanical installation works. Obtain competitive quotations, evaluate offers, and negotiate pricing and payment terms. Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to understand procurement needs and delivery timelines. Raise and track purchase orders through to delivery confirmation and invoice approval. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delivery, quality, or service issues promptly. Maintain organized procurement records, cost tracking sheets, and vendor files. Support cost-control efforts by identifying savings opportunities without compromising quality.
What we're looking for:3–5 years of procurement or purchasing experience with a strong focus on the local Egyptian market. Established network of local suppliers, contractors, or service providers — particularly in construction, mechanical, or industrial sectors. Strong negotiation skills and a results-driven mindset. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple open purchase orders simultaneously. Good organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and cost tracking. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Nice to have:Prior experience in a water treatment, MEP, or industrial services company. Familiarity with sourcing civil works subcontractors and mechanical installation services. Working knowledge of ERP or procurement management systems. Good command of English for internal reporting and documentation.
