JOB PURPOSE:
This position is to undertake teaching at undergraduate level, and undertake management and administrative duties commensurate with the role. undertake high quality research and knowledge exchange activities in any field.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Teaching 40%
Contribute to established teaching programmes in any area. Be able to design new programmes at undergraduate level. Deliver teaching through a variety of traditional methods and have experience of teaching online. Be able to lead programmes and be responsible for quality assurance of these programmes Contribute to subject wide curriculum development and as appropriate lead reviews.
Research 40%
Deliver and disseminate high quality research of international impact, publishing in high quality journals and contributing to the research aims of the faculty. Attract grant funding to further the research aims of the faculty. Engage in knowledge exchange and public engagement/impact e.g. via the media, public events, etc. Work towards being recognized externally as an expert in the field of Physiotherapy.
Leadership and Management 20%
Lead projects and/or courses, coordinating other staff. Engage within the academic community and, as applicable professional community locally, nationally, or internationally.
JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation: Ph. D. in the subject being delivered. Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience. Research History. Educational experience in both national and international universities. Extensive research and/or teaching experience within subject specialism, supported by relevant qualifications (normally a PhD or equivalent). Must be able to demonstrate an existing or developing record of research with potential for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals related to the relevant subject. Experienced in teaching at all levels, including Ph. D. supervision and in design and development of teaching programmes. Skills & Competencies: Will have demonstrated the ability to make an outstanding contribution to the research activities and intellectual life of the faculty. Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing. Evidence of reputation in the field such as having published results from research, publication in peer reviewed outlets and recognition among research users. Evidence of effectiveness in design of and delivery of research projects and/or teaching and learning. Contribution to attracting research funding or other financial support.
