Job Summary:
The OT Cybersecurity Consultant provides advisory, design, technical specification development and assurance services for smart buildings, smart cities, and critical infrastructure projects integrating Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS). You will embed cybersecurity requirements into engineering designs, control schematics, network architectures, technical specifications, and multidisciplinary coordination throughout the project lifecycle from concept through detailed design and tendering to implementation supervision to ensure secure segmented, and operationally resilient OT/ICS Engineering architectures aligned with global frameworks and national regulations including IEC 62443 and NIST 800-82. In this role, you will lead coordination with Telecom, Electrical, Mechanical, Security, BMS, AV and other engineering trades to ensure cyber security requirements are properly integrated into project designs and specifications, to develop technical specifications that ensure secure system design and operational resilience.
Responsibilities:
Lead the cyber security engineering design lifecycle for OT/ICS environments from concept and schematic design through detailed design, tender documentation, , implementation oversight/coordination, and commissioning support. Assess, identify, and design tailored OT cybersecurity solutions for Smart Buildings, Smart Cities, ICS, and critical infrastructure environments. Develop secure OT architectures based on zoning, segmentation, and secure access principles in close coordination with design and ICT teams. Support the alignment of OT Engineering architectures and solutions with applicable cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and project security frameworks. Develop cybersecurity engineering requirements, control schematics, sequence-level security requirements, and technical specifications for OT systems and smart infrastructure environments. Coordinate with engineering disciplines and external vendors to ensure cybersecurity requirements are embedded within system architectures, network designs, control panels, field devices, and integration interfaces Conduct OT cybersecurity risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and define and implement appropriate mitigation measures. Advise on the deployment and configuration of OT security technologies such as firewalls, segmentation gateways, and monitoring solutions. Review and audit design documents and vendor submittals to ensure compliance with project security standards and frameworks. Support development of cybersecurity design standards, reusable specification templates, and digital-ready/cyber-ready engineering requirements across multiple disciplines Support cybersecurity assessments and technical reviews of smart infrastructure and OT systems, recommending remediation actions and Engineering architectural improvement measures. Provide technical oversight during implementation, testing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities to verify cybersecurity controls are properly implemented in accordance with design intent and specifications. Collaborate across disciplines to address OT/IT integration challenges and ensure secure interoperability of systems and data. Develop OT incident response and recovery guidelines to strengthen overall cyber resilience.

7–10 years of experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity across smart buildings, smart cities, and critical infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of OT/ICS systems including BMS, SCADA, DCS, PLCs, RTUs, SIS, and smart city digital systems. Proven experience in OT network design and segmentation (zones/conduits, DMZs, IT/OT segregation, secure remote access). Skilled in engineering secure OT architectures and defining technical requirements for OT security technologies including firewalls, NAC, intrusion detection/prevention systems, segmentation gateways, jump servers, remote access solutions, monitoring platforms, and secure integration architectures. Experience coordinating cybersecurity requirements with engineering disciplines including ICT, telecom, BMS, ELV, electrical, and security systems during design development and construction documentation stages Experience developing cybersecurity design requirements for consultant and contractor deliverables including network segregation drawings, secure architecture diagrams, device hardening requirements, remote access requirements, and OT asset inventories Familiarity with engineering consultancy workflows including concept design, schematic design, detailed design, tender documentation, submittal review, and construction-stage coordination. Ability to translate cybersecurity requirements into practical engineering design documentation suitable for procurement, contractor implementation, and multidisciplinary coordination Experience working within engineering consulting environments delivering OT cybersecurity as part of smart building, smart city, airport, transportation, utility, or critical infrastructure design projects. Experience conducting OT risk assessments, OT threat modeling, attack path analysis, and vulnerability analysis, as well as documenting asset inventories and network topologies. Experience with OT asset discovery, passive monitoring, and OT visibility platforms such as Nozomi, Claroty, Dragos, or equivalent technologies. Familiarity with IBMS/BMS ecosystems including HVAC, access control, CCTV, lighting control, smart metering, and IoT integration platforms. Strong experience authoring cyber security technical specifications, Division 25/26/27/28 specifications, control schematics, network architecture drawings and cyber security design deliverables for building, city, and infrastructure projects. Experience supporting or contributing to cybersecurity technical specifications, design reviews, compliance assessments, and project documentation for OT and smart infrastructure environments. Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning activities, and cybersecurity verification processes for OT environments. Understanding of OT systems, smart city digital platforms, IoT architectures, edge computing, and secure integration between OT and enterprise/cloud environments. Knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, ISO 27019, and national cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NCA OTCC-1:2022). Familiar with industrial protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, OPC-UA, MQTT, and DNP3. Understanding of SOC monitoring integration for OT environments (e.g., SIEM/SOAR). Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders.
