Role Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CCTV Shift Leader - to oversee the efficient operation of camera surviellance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of CCTV operators, ensuring that all surveillance activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and industry standards. You will monitor live feeds, assess potential security threats, and coordinate emergency responses as needed. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and implementing operational procedures, providing training to new staff, and conducting regular performance evaluations to maintain high levels of service and security.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, preferably with experience in a control room environment. Excellent leadership skills are essential, as you will be required to motivate your team and ensure effective communication during high-pressure situations. Proficiency in using CCTV technology and other security systems is crucial, along with a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze footage for evidence. Strong decision-making skills and the capacity to remain calm under pressure are vital for this role. A relevant degree or certification in security management is highly desirable.
Core Responsibilities Team Leadership: Supervise and support CCTV operators, coordinate shift handovers, manage breaks, and foster a positive, focused team environment. Active Monitoring & Surveillance: Oversee the proactive monitoring of multiple CCTV screens, utilizing PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras to track suspicious activity or security breaches. Incident Response: Coordinate emergency responses, including liaising with on-site teams, during incidents. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed incident reports, daily shift logs, and evidence logs for management or legal proceedings. Equipment Maintenance: Perform, or delegate, regular checks of surveillance systems, cameras, and recording equipment to ensure 100% operational readiness, reporting faults immediately. Training & Compliance: Train new staff on surveillance protocols, software, and company policies, ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
Key Requirements Experience: Previous experience as a CCTV operator or surveillance specialist, ideally 5+ years in a high-pressure, 24/7 control room environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CCTV VMS (Video Management Systems), camera switching software, and computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Leadership Skills: Ability to train, motivate, and direct staff, especially during critical incidents. Attention to Detail: Exceptional observation skills to identify suspicious behavior or potential security risks. Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills for reporting and coordinating with cliets. Required Proficiency in English High-Level Verbal Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with police, emergency services, and staff over radio or telephone during emergency, high-stress situations. Accurate Written Documentation: Proficient writing skills to create precise, detailed, and legally sound incident reports. Technical Literacy: Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and data logs.
