Job purpose:To prepare and deliver accurate shop drawings, BIM models, and technical documents by reviewing design packages, resolving technical issues, and coordinating with site teams—ensuring timely and high-quality project execution.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities: 1. Project Study & Planning:Study the project’s BOQs, drawings, and specifications to fully understand the requirements. Conduct a review of the design and technical documents (IFT & IFC) to identify gaps, raise technical queries (TQs/RFIs) if needed. Inform the direct manager of any variation orders identified during the shop drawing stage, based on consultant feedback or design changes.2. Shop Drawings & Technical Submissions:Prepare the shop drawings/composite drawings as per the time schedule, and submit to direct manager for review. Develop all required calculation sheets (e.g., panel schedules, voltage drop calculations, and supporting design calculations) to accompany the shop drawing submissions.3. BIM Submissions:Issue BIM model or upgrade the existing BIM model to a level of detailing as per time schedule for all projects in order to facilitate T. O. T, recognize clashes & solve them during the process of arranging SD.4. Site Coordination:Attend site meetings to address and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the site team, ensuring smooth project implementation 5. Other Job-Related Duties: Perform any additional duties related to the role as assigned by the direct manager.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.5-7 years of experience in electrical design, shop drawings, and technical submissions (preferably in construction projects). Strong knowledge of electrical systems design (low voltage, lighting, power, etc.). Proficiency in design and drafting software such as Auto CAD and Revit (BIM). Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, local regulations). Experience in preparing calculation sheets (load calculations, voltage drop, panel schedules, etc.). Ability to review IFC/IFT drawings and identify discrepancies. Good understanding of BIM coordination and clash detection processes. Strong communication and coordination skills with site and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
