Job Purpose Managing and overseeing all civil works on assigned projects, ensuring that construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, quality standards, budget, and project schedule. The role represents the consultant on site and ensures successful project delivery from a technical, contractual, and managerial perspective.
Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise all civil construction activities on site. Ensure works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. Monitor contractor performance in terms of quality, progress, safety, and compliance. Chair and lead site meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Coordinate with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, MEP, Infrastructure). Review and monitor contractors’ work programs and construction schedules. Track project progress and identify delays or risks. Review variation orders, claims, and extension of time (EOT) requests. Coordinate with cost control and contracts teams regarding measurements, payments, and variations. Ensure implementation of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plans. Review and approve method statements, inspection requests, and material submittals. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site. Take corrective actions in case of non-conformance or safety violations. Administer construction contracts in accordance with contract terms and conditions. Review and certify contractors’ interim payment certificates. Issue site instructions, notices, and correspondence as required. Support dispute resolution and claims management. Act as the main point of contact between the client, contractors, and internal teams. Coordinate with authorities, utilities, and third parties when required. Ensure clear communication and reporting to senior management and the client. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. Maintain accurate site records, logs, and project documentation. Report project risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Alexandria residency is a must. Professional certification (PMP or equivalent) is an advantage.15+ years of experience in construction supervision and project management. Strong background in large-scale civil / infrastructure / building projects. Previous experience with consulting engineering firms is preferred. Strong project management and leadership skills. Excellent technical knowledge of civil construction methods. Contractual and claims management skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure.
