Project Control Manager
Job Summary
The Project Control Manager oversees project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, risk management, and reporting activities. The role ensures effective project execution by providing accurate performance analysis, forecasting, and management information to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.* Establish project baselines for scope, schedule, and cost.* Monitor project progress against approved schedules.* Identify critical path activities and potential delays.
Cost Control
* Prepare project budgets and cost forecasts.* Track project expenditures and analyze cost variances.* Ensure cost performance aligns with project objectives.* Support invoicing, cash flow forecasting, and earned value analysis.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
* Prepare weekly and monthly project performance reports.* Develop KPIs, dashboards, and management presentations.* Analyze schedule and cost performance trends.* Provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Risk & Change Management
* Identify project risks and mitigation strategies.* Assess impacts of scope changes on schedule and budget.* Maintain risk and change logs.* Support claims and extension-of-time evaluations.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams.* Support project managers in achieving project objectives.* Participate in progress meetings with clients and contractors.* Ensure compliance with company procedures and project controls standards.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.* 7+ years of experience in project controls, planning, or cost management.* Experience in construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, or industrial projects preferred.* Strong knowledge of scheduling and cost control methodologies.
Required Skills
* Advanced proficiency in: * Primavera P6 * Microsoft Excel * Microsoft Project * ERP systems such as SAP ERP* Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).* Strong analytical and reporting skills.* Leadership and communication skills.* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
