The German University in Cairo invites applications for vacancies to be filled effective September 2026.

Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science (EMS) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate to join the Department of Design and Production Engineering program. We invite applications for a full-time academic position in the field of Engineering Design at the rank of Lecturer or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to classical and advanced mechanical engineering design.
• Supervise student projects and theses.
• Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable international journals.
• Engage in curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching materials.
• Contribute to departmental and university service activities.
• Foster partnerships with industry and participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Design or a closely related field from a recognized and reputable university.

A strong teaching record at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Proficiency in modern design and simulation tools CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, NX, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.), Programming (Python, MATLAB, or similar)

Ability to develop advanced, technology-oriented learning environments.

Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research supported by publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.

Experience in funded research projects is an asset.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
