Job Summary:
The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for leading the organization’s internal audit function, providing independent and objective assurance on governance, risk management, and internal control effectiveness. The role ensures that business processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. The Head of Internal Audit plays a critical role in strengthening internal controls, enhancing risk management practices, and supporting executive management in achieving strategic goals. Job Responsibilities:Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit strategy and annual audit plan aligned with organizational priorities. Lead and manage all internal audit activities, including financial, operational, and IT audits. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management frameworks. Provide independent assurance and advisory services to senior management. Present audit findings, reports, and recommendations to executive management. Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions. Identify key business risks and provide practical recommendations to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Establish and maintain internal audit policies, procedures, and methodologies in line with international standards. Lead, mentor, and develop the internal audit team, ensuring high performance and professional growth. Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and other assurance providers when required. Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are highly preferred.- Previous Experience: Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within internal audit, risk management, or related functions. Extensive experience in internal audit within large organizations, preferably in real estate, construction, or diversified sectors.- Special requirements: Strong expertise in internal audit, risk management, and internal control frameworks. In-depth knowledge of audit standards (e.g., IIA standards) and regulatory requirements. Proven leadership and team management capabilities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including senior leadership exposure.
