Job Details

Job Purpose: The associate director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of all events technical services, video or web conferencing, and digital media services, including streaming across the University. The primary purpose is to ensure the planning, budgeting, inventory, and policies for these services are effectively managed to provide high-quality technical support for all University events and instructional needs.
Core Responsibilities:Operations Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of event technical support, covering 11 event spaces, and meeting rooms technologies Financial and Resource Planning: Manage the capital budget, approximately $ 1.2M, for equipment procurement and the operational budget, approximately EGP 1M, for maintenance, supplies, and staff travel or training Policy and Inventory Control: Establish and enforce policies and procedures related to the use, scheduling, and support of all technical equipment Maintain a detailed inventory of all related assets Team Supervision and Scheduling: Directly supervise the IT events team, managing their work schedules and ensuring proper coverage for all events and services Event Coordination and Support: Act as the main liaison with the University events office and the commencement committee, providing high-quality technical support for all major University ceremonies Technical Expertise and Maintenance: Oversee the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment, including presentation equipment, sound systems, lighting, video production and streaming, and video conferencing Interdepartmental Liaison: Coordinate with central IT, security, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and address non-technical infrastructure issues, e.g., electricity and lighting General Administrative Support: Perform other related duties as requested
Qualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, and a post-graduate certificate in a related field are required Minimum 10 years in a technical support or service role, with at least five years in a managerial capacity
Skills:Communication skills: Excellent managerial skills, interpersonal communication, and project management Proficient in speaking and writing both Arabic and English Technical: Knowledge of technical terminology used by event support, video conference Excellent negotiation skills
