Job Title Project Finance Manager Department Finance Function Project Finance Role Overview The Project Finance Manager is responsible for arranging and securing long-term, non-recourse debt financing for project developments across the MENA region. This role leads lender engagement from early origination through to financial close, including due diligence coordination, financial structuring, and documentation negotiation. The role also owns the oversight of project financial models throughout the project lifecycle—ensuring accuracy, robustness, and alignment with financing and investment requirements. Key Responsibilities Lender Engagement & Financing Source and arrange long-term non-recourse project finance from international, local, and multilateral lenders Initiate and manage discussions to assess lender appetite at early project stages Lead negotiations to achieve optimal commercial and financial terms Negotiate mandate letters, term sheets, and financing agreements Coordinate lender due diligence processes (technical, legal, financial, insurance, ESG) in collaboration with internal teams Present and align financing structures with equity partners and stakeholders Conditions Precedent & Financial Close Monitor and ensure timely satisfaction of all financing conditions precedent Prepare and manage waiver requests where required for initial drawdowns Execute interest rate hedging strategies in line with project requirements Coordinate financial close activities, including documentation execution and disbursement readiness Financial Modelling & Analysis Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of integrated project finance models Ensure accurate long-term cash flow forecasting across the full project lifecycle Prepare and analyse financial sensitivities and scenario testing Assess appropriate cost of equity and target returns Evaluate project economics and performance metrics, including equity IRR, LCOE, and other key indicators Documentation & Stakeholder Support Provide project finance input for internal and external presentations at all project stages Support business development and commercial teams with financial analysis during negotiations Contribute to lender, investor, and management materials Market Intelligence & Value Optimisation Monitor market trends related to interest rates, debt pricing, and financing structures Identify opportunities to enhance project returns through innovative financial solutions Explore alternative and blended funding sources, including grants and concessional finance Internal Collaboration & Leadership Coordinate inputs from cross-functional project teams to ensure timely and accurate financial outputs Act as a key finance interface across departments and geographies Support senior management decision-making with robust financial insights Mentor and develop project finance analysts and contribute to capability building within the team Qualifications & Experience Essential Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline Minimum 10 years’ experience in Project Finance, Structured Finance, or M&AAt least 5 years’ hands-on experience in complex financial modelling using MS Excel Preferred Degree in Commerce or Engineering combined with CA, CFA, or MBAProven track record of successfully closing project-financed transactions Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure projects Fluency in written and spoken English (additional languages advantageous) Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in project and structured finance Excellent commercial judgment and negotiation capability Confident relationship-builder able to lead multi-stakeholder transaction teams Clear and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset Ability to work effectively under pressure in an international, multicultural environment Advanced MS Excel financial modelling skills
