United ITS is expanding its aviation software engineering team. We build high-reliability software systems supporting aviation operations, airspace control, and training environments. We are seeking a Junior Backend . NET Engineer to join our development team. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to build, maintain, and optimize the backend services powering real-time operational systems. This is an incredible opportunity to dive deep into mission-critical software, learning how to handle complex integrations and high-concurrency environments in the aviation industry. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain web APIs using ASP. NET Core under the guidance of senior architects. Contribute to the development of microservices and assist in managing API Gateway configurations. Help implement communication layers, including RESTful services and Web Sockets for real-time data flow. Write and optimize SQL queries and assist in designing data models using Postgre SQL. Participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and help maintain high standards for thread safety and system reliability. Work alongside frontend and Dev Ops teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of backend services.
Required Qualifications0–2 years of professional experience with C# and . NET / . NET Core. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and RESTful API principles. Basic experience with SQL and relational databases (Postgre SQL experience is a major plus). Familiarity with asynchronous programming and an interest in learning complex concurrency control. Strong analytical skills and a desire to work on mission-critical, real-time systems. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Bonus Points (Preferred) Familiarity with Docker or containerized environments. Basic understanding of spatial data or Post GIS. Exposure to message brokers (Rabbit MQ/Kafka) or event-driven patterns.
