About the Role We are looking for a talented System Engineer to join our team and take ownership of our infrastructure’s reliability, scalability, and performance. This role goes beyond traditional system administration—you’ll architect, implement, and continuously improve a robust environment across Linux and Windows systems, databases, virtualization layers, and high availability setups. You’ll work closely with developers, Dev Ops, and security teams to ensure our systems are resilient, secure, and ready to scale.
Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain high-availability (HA) systems and infrastructure. Manage Linux-based environments (primarily Ubuntu/Debian), including configuration, performance tuning, and monitoring. Administer Windows Server and Active Directory, including GPO, DNS, and authentication flows. Set up and manage databases, including replication, performance tuning, and backups. Manage virtualization environments and hypervisors (e.g., KVM, Proxmox, VMware). Automate infrastructure tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Power Shell). Monitor system health using tools like Prometheus, Zabbix, or equivalent. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across OS, network, and database layers. Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture, SOPs, and incident response plans. Collaborate with developers on infrastructure needs and deployment pipelines. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and disaster recovery planning.
Qualifications Experience: 2+ years as a System Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar. Operating Systems: Deep expertise in Linux systems and Windows Server environments. Databases: Hands-on experience with Postgre SQL administration and tuning. Virtualization: Solid understanding of virtualization platforms such as KVM, Proxmox, or VMware. High Availability: Experience designing and maintaining HA systems (e.g., using keepalived, HAProxy, clustering). Directory Services: Proficiency in Windows Active Directory, LDAP, and related protocols. Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Bash, Power Shell, or Python. Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with monitoring stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix). Security: Understanding of system hardening, access control, and patch management. Collaboration: Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Bonus Experience with SIEM and managing log aggregation or search clusters.
