Job Summary:This role is responsible for providing leadership and oversight on all tax matters, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and effective risk management. The role is also responsible for managing regulatory interactions, optimizing tax positions, and supporting executive decision-making. In addition, the role ensures that all tax operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, professional standards, and corporate policies, while maintaining transparency, efficiency, and financial integrity. Roles & Responsibilities:Manage the company’s tax function by setting directions, establishing robust tax governance and controls, overseeing compliance and reporting, managing tax risks and audits, and providing proactive tax advisory support to internal stakeholders. Provide proactive tax advisory related to strategic decisions, new business initiatives, emerging tax legislation, regulatory changes, and associated tax risks. Ensure full compliance with all local tax regulations, statutory filings, and reporting requirements. Manage tax risk by establishing internal controls, monitoring compliance processes, and ensuring timely resolution of tax queries or disputes. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all tax returns, reports, and filings. Oversee audits and inspections by tax authorities and liaise with external advisors as required. Act as the primary point of contact with tax authorities, regulators, auditors, and external advisors and communicate complex tax matters clearly to related stakeholders. Develop and enhance tax processes, controls, and reporting systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Pre-requisites (Education and Professional Experience):Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Advanced tax certification or postgraduate studies in taxation or finance are considered an advantage.10+ years of experience in corporate taxation, including tax compliance, planning, advisory, and tax risk management.3+ years of experience in a senior tax leadership role within a large organization, preferably in financial services, insurance, or a regulated environment. Strong exposure to local tax regulations, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and tax accounting. Demonstrated experience in managing tax audits and regulatory engagements with tax authorities.
