Position: Mechanical Section Head
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:-Lead Mechanical Engineering Activities: Oversee capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations from concept through to commissioning.-Design Authority: Ensure mechanical designs comply with company standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, and international codes.-Format Parts Design and Fabrication: Own the design, fabrication, and qualification of machine format parts for operational efficiency, repeatability, and fitness for purpose.-Local Manufacturing and Supply Chain: Drive the localization of format parts manufacturing, focusing on cost reduction, lead-time optimization, and supply chain resilience.-Define Technical Specifications: Set specifications for materials, tolerances, and surface finishes for locally fabricated format parts.-Supplier Management: Qualify and manage local workshops and suppliers for format part fabrication, conducting audits and monitoring performance.-Value Engineering: Lead value engineering initiatives for mechanical components while ensuring safety and GMP compliance.-Technical Evaluations: Lead technical evaluations, FAT/SAT, and acceptance activities for new or modified parts, ensuring compliance with approved performance standards.-Vendor/Contractor Management: Oversee vendor and contractor interfaces for the mechanical scope, including drawing reviews and change management.-Documentation Governance: Maintain mechanical engineering documentation, such as drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and change control records.-Compliance with Regulations: Ensure all activities comply with regulatory, safety, and quality requirements (e.g., GMP, HSD, ATEX, PED).
Job Requirements•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering•Minimum 8 in FMCG or Pharma, preferable liquids and creams filling lines (filling, capping, labeling end of line equipment’s)•Good experience in maintaining utilities equipment (chiller, PW unit, air compressors and boiler)•Auto CAD experience is a must Solid works experience is plus•P&ID reading and modifying•Familiar with Engineering standards and codes•Good knowledge of pneumatic circuits controls, installing all piping in pharma or cosmetics Industries
