Hospice Egypt, a project of the non-profit JOSAAB Foundation, provides free hospice care to adult terminally ill patients regardless of socio-economic status, gender, or religion. Founded in 2010 and licensed by the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, the organization focuses not on curing illness but on improving quality of life and preserving patient dignity. Utilizing a multi-disciplinary team, Hospice Egypt offers social, psychological, nursing, and financial support to patients and their families. Its vision is to be a pioneer in hospice services in Egypt, aiming to expand its reach and establish the first stationary hospice facility in the country.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Patient Caregiver or Nurse, based in El Sherouk. The responsibilities include providing compassionate patient care and assistance, ensuring comfort and dignity for terminally ill individuals. Daily tasks involve supporting patients with their physical needs, offering emotional support, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Caregivers or nurses are expected to maintain a nurturing and professional environment, adhering to the principles of hospice care.
Qualifications
Patient care skills, including assistance with physical needs and maintaining patient comfort Strong emotional resilience and the ability to provide empathetic support to patients and families Nursing skills, including administering medications and following care plans Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with a multidisciplinary team Prior experience in palliative or hospice care is a plus Relevant certifications or licensure in nursing or caregiving Commitment to maintaining patient dignity and enhancing quality of life
