Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Heavy Equipment & Heavy Trucks)
Job Description:
-Lead and supervise the maintenance and repair operations for heavy equipment including:-Loaders: Caterpillar, Komatsu.-Telehandlers: JCB.-Excavators, Rollers, and Compactors: Liebherr, TCM.-Backhoe loaders and tractors: JCB, Mountain Clarks, and others.-Manlifts and other construction equipment.

-Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and downtime.-Conduct detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hydraulic, mechanical, and powertrain failures.-Coordinate with spare parts and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of critical components.-Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment performance reports.-Supervise and mentor junior technicians and mechanics, ensuring proper maintenance standards are followed.-Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures during all maintenance activities.-Provide 24/7 technical support for emergency breakdowns and participate in daily equipment inspections.-Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.-Diagnoses, repairs, and services commercial vehicles (semi-trucks, buses) to ensure safety and performance.-Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, coolant checks, and tune-ups to avoid unexpected breakdowns.-Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair histories, and documentation of parts used.

Qualifications & Skills:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field.-Minimum 6–8 years’ hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance (construction or mining industry preferred).-Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and powertrain systems.-Familiarity with diagnostic tools and service software for Caterpillar, Komatsu, and JCB.-Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and communication skills.-Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to urgent mechanical issues.-Must be willing to reside at the worksite and be available for extended working hours as required.
