Senior Software Quality Engineer – hybrid: 4 days On-Site and 1 day remote
About the Role:
Eon Technology is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join our team at our head office in Maadi , Cairo, Egypt. This is a hybrid-time, on-site role for experienced testers who are passionate about quality assurance, test automation, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Test Planning & Execution• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web and mobile applications.• Perform manual testing to ensure high software quality across different platforms.• Conduct API testing using Postman, Soap UI, or similar tools to ensure proper system integration.
✅ Automation Testing & Performance Testing• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.• Conduct performance and load testing using tools like JMeter, Load Runner, or similar to evaluate system performance under stress.
✅ Defect Tracking & Quality Assurance Leadership• Identify, document, and track software defects throughout the development lifecycle.• Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define and improve testing strategies.• Take ownership of software quality across different projects, ensuring adherence to best practices.• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior testers to improve testing processes and knowledge sharing.
✅ Collaboration & Reporting• Collaborate with agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) to ensure smooth testing processes within development cycles.• Use Jira, Test Rail, or similar tools for test case management and bug tracking.• Generate detailed reports on test execution, defect analysis, and quality metrics to support decision-making.
Requirements:
???? Education & Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.• 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a proven track record in manual and automation testing.
???? Technical Skills:• ISTQB is required• Strong knowledge of manual testing, API testing, automation frameworks, and performance testing.• Proficiency in automation tools like Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.• Experience with performance testing using JMeter, Load Runner, or similar tools.• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Dev Ops practices.• Experience with microservices• Good understanding of Agile• Good understanding of code quality tools, static analysis, and OOP principles.• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Java, Python, or Java Script).

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.• Ability to mentor junior team members and improve testing processes.• Adaptability to work in agile environments with evolving requirements.
