Mission
JOB PURPOSE:
The MCC Engineer is responsible for monitoring maintenance activities, managing technical defects, and coordinating responses to ensure the continuous safety and operational reliability of railway systems. Acting as a critical link between Operations, Maintenance, and Customer Service teams, the engineer ensures timely resolution of faults, accurate system documentation, and effective execution of maintenance plans to support uninterrupted and safe transit services.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
System Monitoring & Fault Management
•Monitor real-time system alarms and reported failures across the mainline, stations, and depots.
•Log, classify, and track technical issues using the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
•Ensure accurate and timely data entry related to service requests, fault resolutions, and asset performance.
Emergency & Incident Coordination
•Coordinate immediate technical responses to system faults or critical incidents.
•Support safe system recovery in coordination with operations and field teams.
•Provide incident updates and technical feedback to assist in investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Preventive Maintenance Oversight
•Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance schedules to ensure tasks are completed on time.
•Track maintenance status in the MMS and follow up on overdue or incomplete activities.
Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
•Maintain clear and continuous communication with station personnel and maintenance teams regarding equipment status and safety concerns.
•Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate smooth operational support during service disruptions.
Reporting & Compliance
•Prepare daily and periodic reports on maintenance performance, system availability, and asset health.
•Participate in audits, inspections, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with SOPs and safety standards.
•Support project activities and perform additional duties in line with operational priorities, including shift work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields).
•Fluent in Arabic & English, French is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE:
•Working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
•Competent in the use of Maintenance Management Systems (preferably MMS/Maximo).
EXPERIENCE:
•3-5 years of relevant experience in technical or engineering roles.
•Experience in rail, metro, or transportation environments preferred.
