Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Primary Design Engineer to join our team and lead the engineering design of high-voltage substations from concept through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the primary design of high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) substations Develop detailed layouts, single-line diagrams, and general arrangement drawings in compliance with international and local standards. Prepare and review technical specifications, material lists, and equipment sizing. Coordinate with civil, secondary, and protection teams to ensure fully integrated designs. Conduct site visits, surveys, and technical assessments when required. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers. Review supplier/manufacturer drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements. Ensure all designs meet safety, reliability, and environmental standards.
Key Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in primary substation design (HV/EHV). Strong knowledge of substation equipment: transformers, switchgear, busbars, disconnectors, surge arresters, etc. Proficiency in Auto CAD, Micro Station, or similar design software. Familiarity with international design standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and team leadership abilities.
