Key Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure quality medical care provided to inpatients.
• Conduct regular ward rounds and follow up on patient management plans.
• Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, patient safety standards, and infection control policies.
• Manage daily ward operations to ensure smooth patient flow and bed utilisation.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers in collaboration with nursing and medical teams.
• Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation in patient records.
• Participate in developing and implementing ward policies and procedures.
• Lead and coordinate physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare staff within the ward.
• Support staff scheduling and coverage to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive working environment.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient care and ward efficiency.
• Investigate and report incidents, complaints, and adverse events.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities.
• Act as a communication point between patients, families, and hospital management.
• Coordinate with other departments (ER, ICU, diagnostics, pharmacy) to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
