Job Description: General Accountant Department: Finance & Accounting Location: Maadi, Cairo, Egypt (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Chief Accountant / Finance Manager About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, with exposure to the luxury, hospitality, or service-oriented sectors. This role requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, premium environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor invoices, verify payments, and manage customer billing and collections. Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are properly recorded. Month-End & Year-End Closing: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local regulations and IFRS. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the finance team in budget preparation and variance analysis. Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, WHT, income tax) and assist in timely submission of returns. Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls to safeguard company assets. Reporting: Prepare periodic financial reports and dashboards for management review. Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of experience as a General Accountant, preferably within luxury retail, hospitality, hotels, or high-end service industries. Technical Skills:Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Quick Books) Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) Knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards and tax laws Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking Excellent organizational and time-management abilities High level of discretion and confidentiality Professional communication skills in English and Arabic Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
