Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DFCO) to lead and oversee all Rescue & Firefighting Services (RFFS) operations within an aviation environment in the UAE. The ideal candidate will bring extensive operational, regulatory, and emergency response expertise, with a proven track record of managing multi-national teams and ensuring full compliance with aviation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all Rescue & Firefighting Services (RFFS) at the aerodrome. Ensure compliance with ICAO SARPs, UAE GCAA regulations, ISO 45001/14001, and applicable aviation safety requirements. Lead emergency command during incidents, coordinating with internal departments, aviation authorities, and external response agencies. Develop, implement, and update RFFS procedures, SOPs, emergency response plans, and training programs. Oversee manpower planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and procurement to support firefighting operations. Manage inspections, audits, drills, and performance evaluations to maintain operational readiness at all times. Ensure continuous alignment with Aerodrome Manual, SMS (Safety Management System) procedures, and airport emergency plans. Develop and mentor multi-national RFFS teams, promoting a culture of safety, performance, and professional growth. Collaborate with airport stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and emergency services to enhance operational efficiency and crisis response capability. Ensure compliance with HSE standards and support continuous improvement of the HSE management system.
Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Fire Science, Emergency Management or a related field (Master’s preferred).10–15 years of progressive experience in RFFS operations, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership/command role. Certifications:ICS, CM, AEP Certification (required/preferred) GCAA Post Holder ANA Training (preferred) HSE Management System Training (preferred) Advanced knowledge of:ICAO SARPsUAE GCAA regulations ISO 45001/14001 standards Extensive experience in emergency command, operational management, and aviation regulatory compliance. Proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management for airport firefighting operations. Strong skills in developing training programs and leading multi-national teams. Comprehensive understanding of the Aerodrome Manual and SMS Manual. Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Valid UAE Driving License (preferred).
