Summary / Objective

The Translator is responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely translations between Arabic and English across legal, technical, and business materials. The role requires strong linguistic expertise, proficiency in SDL Trados and other CAT tools, and the ability to maintain consistency, tone, and context equivalent to the original text. The Translator ensures that all translated documents meet the firm’s professional standards and support the operational needs of various departments.

Key Responsibilities

Translation & Editing

Translate written materials from English to Arabic and Arabic to English while preserving meaning, tone, style, and context.

Use SDL Trados and other CAT tools to manage translation projects, maintain translation memories, and ensure consistency.

Review, proofread, and edit translated documents to ensure linguistic accuracy and clarity.

Adapt complex legal, technical, and scientific terminology using reliable sources and specialized glossaries.

Ensure the final translated version is grammatically correct, well-structured, and formatted according to internal standards.

Research & Terminology Management

Conduct in-depth research on terminology, legal expressions, scientific terms, and industry-specific vocabulary to maintain accuracy.

Build and update terminology databases and translation memories in SDL Trados.

Utilize specialist dictionaries, reference books, and online legal/technical resources to ensure precision.

Documentation & Workflow

Prioritize and manage multiple translation assignments to meet tight deadlines.

Maintain organized files, records, and archives of translated documents in digital and physical formats.

Summarize, analyze, and compile content when required by internal teams.

Confidentiality & Compliance

Handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring strict confidentiality at all times.

Ensure compliance with firm policies and professional communication standards.
