- Job Description Position Title: HSE Engineer
Reporting to: HSE Manager
Overall Purpose of the Role
To lead and coordinate the implementation of effective HSE strategies across all company sites and projects. The role ensures full compliance with local legislation, international standards (such as ISO 45001), and company-specific HSE policies and procedures, while actively promoting a safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities. HSE Planning & Training
- Develop toolbox talk topics and lead regular HSE briefings.
- Ensure proper site and office setup for delivering HSE training.
- Prepare training content (tests, handouts, awareness videos, etc.).
- Identify training needs and deliver sessions to all employee levels.
- Promote occupational health and safety awareness and practices.
B. Compliance & Inspection
- Lead ISO 45001 certification and ensure its continuous application.
- Approve scaffolding and workplace setups for HSE compliance.
- Ensure proper usage of PPE and safe handling/storage of hazardous materials.
- Carry out routine site safety inspections and audits.
- Act as the main liaison with governmental safety authorities and external auditors.
C. Risk Assessment & Incident Management
- Identify and assess potential hazards (e.g., gases, fumes, unsafe methods).
- Recommend and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Investigate incidents and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Review supervisor incident reports and ensure timely follow-up actions.
- Monitor Covid-19 precautions and ensure adherence to health protocols.
D. Reporting & Documentation
- Issue monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE reports.
- Forecast HSE manpower, equipment, and training needs.
- Approve HSE records required by consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate logs of inspections, training, and surveillance programs.
E. Strategic Support & Legal Compliance
- Support tendering and pre-contract phases with HSE input.
- Ensure legal compliance with Egyptian labor laws and safety regulations.
- Lead internal audits to confirm adherence to company and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with recognized safety organizations (e.g., SPIC) for updates and alignment.
