Role Summary:
The Senior Implementation & Migration Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, deployment, and migration of complex IT infrastructures with a primary focus on Microsoft technologies. This role involves deploying and managing Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, WSUS, SQL Server, Office 365, and Azure. The engineer will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth migrations, seamless integrations, and the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, install, and configure Active Directory domains, forests, group policies, and trusts.
- Migrate Active Directory environments, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal security practices.
- Ensure integration with other services, including Azure Active Directory and hybrid identity management.
- Deploy and configure Microsoft Exchange Servers, ensuring secure email systems and efficient mail flow.
- Perform Exchange Server migrations, including on-premises to cloud or hybrid migrations (Exchange to Office 365).
- Set up and maintain WSUS for centralized management of Windows updates across all client systems and servers.
- Implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances to support various applications.
- Perform database migrations, ensuring data integrity, high availability, and optimized performance.
- Monitor database performance and perform tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Plan and manage large-scale Office 365 migrations, including email, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Ensure the seamless integration of Office 365 with on-premises infrastructure and cloud services.
- Configure Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services.
- Migrate on-premises workloads to Azure while ensuring cost optimization, security, and reliability.
- Assess current infrastructure environments and create detailed migration plans with timelines, risk management strategies, and resource allocations.
- Perform pre-migration testing, post-migration validation, and troubleshooting to ensure a successful migration with minimal downtime.
- Provide training and support for clients and internal teams to ensure the proper use of new systems and technologies.
Experience:5+ years of experience in deploying, migrating, and managing Microsoft environments (Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure, WSUS, SQL Server).Proven expertise in executing large-scale infrastructure migrations and hybrid environments.Strong understanding of cloud migration strategies and hybrid IT environments.Proficient in a wide range of Microsoft solutions, including SharePoint, SCCM, SCOM, WDS, Windows Defender ATP, Intune, and Endpoint Protection. (Optional)Experience in PowerShell scripting for automation during migrations.
