Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced  Contracts Manager to oversee and manage all contractual aspects of projects. This role will involve working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless implementation and compliance with contract documents, as well as handling disputes, claims, and variations effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FIDIC contracts, extensive experience in contract management, and the ability to lead commercial negotiations and tendering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the consistent implementation and maintenance of contract requirements throughout the project's lifecycle.

Lead the review, assessment, and resolution of claims, disputes, and variations to ensure compliance with contract terms.

Collaborate with client representatives, the Project Management Consultant, and contractors to address all contractual matters promptly and effectively.

Assist in drafting and negotiating commercial terms for design, engineering, and construction services, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.

Prepare and review the contractual (front-end) portion of the contract documents, ensuring consistency and clarity between the technical and contractual sections to minimize ambiguities.

Manage ongoing contract administration, ensuring proper execution and compliance with all contract provisions.

Investigate and resolve contractual issues, providing recommendations for corrective action where necessary, in line with the contract terms.

Prepare correspondence and maintain necessary documentation to ensure smooth administration and record-keeping of all contractual matters.

Prepare and submit contract variations as required, ensuring all changes are well-documented and compliant.

Oversee contract close-out procedures, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met prior to final payments to contractors.

Ensure that all necessary warranties, bonds, insurances, and guarantees are in place and maintained in accordance with contract requirements.

Review and prepare recommendations for the release of retention and bonds as per the contract conditions.

Contribute to the preparation of the contractual section of monthly progress reports, ensuring accurate representation of contract status.

Maintain and update logs for variations and claims, tracking the status and progress of each.

Attend commercial and contracts meetings, documenting minutes and action items for follow-up.

Bachelor’s degree in a Civil Engineering field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, with significant experience in construction and engineering projects.Strong understanding and previous experience with FIDIC contract terms and conditions preferable.CMAD or CLAC certification is plus.Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.Proven ability to negotiate and administer complex contracts and handle variations, claims, and disputes effectively.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in preparing and maintaining accurate contractual documentation and records.Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring successful project delivery.
