JOB TITLE - DELIVERY MANAGER - MEP
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Delivery Manager to oversee the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for a high-rise luxury residential tower and hospitality project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing MEP design, procurement, installation, and commissioning for large-scale, complex developments, ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards within time and budget constraints
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight and Management:
- Lead and manage the MEP systems design, implementation, and commissioning for the high-rise residential and hospitality development
- Ensure MEP systems are designed, specified, and installed according to the project’s scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall design of the building
- Act as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related matters, both internally and with external consultants, contractors, and suppliers
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Supervise and manage the MEP project team, including MEP engineers, design consultants, and contractors
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between the MEP team and other disciplines to ensure the timely completion of project milestones
- Monitor the performance of MEP contractors and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and standards
Design and Technical Oversight:
- Review MEP design documents and provide technical input and recommendations to ensure the designs meet project requirements, local regulations, and international best practices
- Ensure compliance with sustainability, energy efficiency, and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) where applicable
- Lead the resolution of technical challenges and identify innovative solutions to complex MEP issues
Procurement and Contract Management:
- Support the procurement process for MEP materials, equipment, and contractors
- Assist in preparing technical specifications and reviewing bids
- Ensure contracts for MEP works are managed effectively, with appropriate risk mitigation and dispute resolution strategies in place
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure that all MEP systems are installed and tested according to the design and industry standards
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the MEP works to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Manage the commissioning process and ensure all systems are fully functional and meet performance criteria before handover
Budget and Schedule Management:
- Oversee the MEP project budget, ensuring cost control and tracking of expenditure
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions when necessary
- Report project status, risks, and issues to senior management and other stakeholders on a regular basis
Health, Safety, and Sustainability:
- Ensure all MEP installation works adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices
- Promote sustainability in MEP design and implementation, considering energy-efficient solutions, water conservation, and the reduction of environmental impact
- Ensure compliance with relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations
Handover and Closeout:
- Oversee the final testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems to the client
- Ensure all required documentation, including as-built drawings, operation manuals, and warranties, are provided
- Manage post-handover support and resolve any MEP-related issues during the defects liability period
Education:
A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related field)
Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in managing MEP systems for large-scale projects, preferably in high-rise residential or hospitality sectors.
- Proven track record in successfully managing MEP delivery for high-end, luxury development
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning
- In-depth understanding of local building codes, regulations, and international standard
- Excellent leadership and team management skill
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and contract management
- Experience with sustainability certifications (LEED, BREEAM) and energy-efficient design
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill
- Proficiency in MEP design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE, or equivalent)
- Experience in managing high-rise buildings or luxury hospitality projects.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) integration for MEP systems
