Logistics & Operations Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly efficient and detail-oriented Logistics and Operations Specialist to oversee and streamline operations across our remote construction sites. This pivotal role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate challenges, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure seamless coordination between procurement, logistics, and site operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Site Operations Follow-Up: Act as the central point of contact for remote site operations, ensuring consistent communication and follow-up on progress, challenges, and resource needs.
  • Bottleneck Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks in project workflows, including material delivery, equipment availability, and labor scheduling. Implement corrective actions to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Procurement Coordination: Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials and equipment to remote sites. Track orders, manage logistics, and resolve any procurement-related issues.
  • Logistics Management: Oversee the efficient movement of personnel, equipment, and materials to and from remote sites. Coordinate transportation, manage logistics providers, and optimize delivery schedules.
  • Resource Allocation: Monitor resource allocation across all projects, ensuring that sites have the necessary personnel, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site operations, logistics, and procurement activities. Prepare regular reports for management on project progress, potential risks, and implemented solutions.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Proactively anticipate potential challenges and develop contingency plans. Analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with site managers, project teams, procurement staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all logistics and operations activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Requirements:Proven experience in logistics, operations management, or a related field, preferably within the construction industry.Strong understanding of construction site operations, procurement processes, and logistics management.Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.   Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.   Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including project management software, logistics management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.Ability to travel to remote sites as needed.Personal Attributes:Sharp and Punctual: Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and reliability.Critical Thinker: Able to analyze complex situations, identify potential problems, and develop effective solutions.Proactive and Anticipatory: Takes initiative and anticipates potential challenges before they escalate.Results-Oriented: Focused on achieving project goals and delivering tangible results.Excellent Communicator: Able to clearly and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
